My fraternity will celebrate 100 years at Ohio State

I'm a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. In 2011, the fraternity will be celebrating the 100th Year Anniversary of Kappa Chapter at the Ohio State University (where I was initiated). I happily designed the logo for that centennial celebration.

American Physical Society banners

When I'm not illustrating caricatures and cartoons, I stay busy working as the director of art and special publications at the American Physical Sociey in College Park, MD. Here's a series of 3 feet by 6 feet promotional banners that I designed. They will be displayed at the association's booth at conferences.

Here's a recent caricature / illustration of the "Divine 9". This project celebrates the imagery of the nine main historically black fraternities and sororities. It was a commissioned wedding gift. The Sigma and Delta were married this past weekend. I wish them well!!

Our 2010 West Coast Adventure

The Johnson family have made it back from our eventful West Coast adventure. It started at the awesome Comic Con International convention in San Diego.

After the conference, we drove north to Los Angeles and spent some time in Hollywood.

And the final leg of our busy trip concluded in the Nevada city whose reputation didn't disappoint us! It was a wild, vibrant and crazy place to visit.

Kerry's 1984 Freddy Krueger caricature

The remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street is about to be released. I looked through my archives and found one of my original color caricatures (before computers; all acrylic and watercolor paints) from way back in 1984.

SPECTRA: Issue #2 (ebook version)

A recently completed project with Becky Thompson-Flagg:

Six months have passed since Lucinda (AKA Spectra) learned about her powerful laser powers. In SPECTRA #1, Lucinda used those powers to rescue her friends from the clutches of the evil Miss Alignment. Issue #2 is a continuation of that adventure and also provides the reader with some history about the invention of the laser.
